Sound Reinforcement

32 Channel Board - Our Primary House system is inputs for this 32 channel board. We rely on a Yamaha MG-series mixing console.

Balanced XLR Stereo and Mono Outputs - Professional connectivity is provided by  XLR-type balanced stereo and mono outputs and some 1/4 inch inputs.

14 Buses - Our current board includes a total of 14 mix buses: the main stereo program bus, four stereo group bus pairs for convenient channel grouping, six auxiliary busses (4 configurable for pre- or post-fader operation and two set up as effect sends), and 2 internal effect busses that feed the dual high-performance built-in effect processors.

Low-noise, High-precision Mic Preamps With Phantom Power - Our system offers low-noise, transparent amplification with the widest possible range of dynamic and condenser microphones, which adds up to cleaner, better-sounding mixes. All mic preamps feature switchable phantom power for phantom-powered studio condenser microphones. Phantom power is switchable in 8-channel groups.

Dual SPX Digital Effects - In the MG32/14FX you have  2 digital signal processing stages, fed by separate effect buses.  This means you can enhance your mix with 2 separate effects at the same time. And the effects are provided by Yamaha DSP technology with quality SPX digital effects, including reverb, delay, pitch change, chorus, phasing, vocal doubling, distortion, and more. Parameter controls that can be adjusted to tailor the effects to your sonic requirement are also provided and Tap delay can produce tempo-synchronized delays.

IMPORTANT NOTE - We do not supply direct boxes, please bring any Direct Boxes or other tools you need for 1/4 inch or XLR interface.

In addition to this system we use a Behringer auxiliary board with more sophisticated sound frequency equalization and digital effects processing.  This 6-8 channel sound system uses a 12-14 channel Behringer brandsound board.

House Mains are 4 - 12 inch drivers and an additional 15 inch pair of mains,
each pair is driven by a separate 300-1200 watt power amplifiers.

The Acorn Theater has 2 - 15 inch monitors on stage. We occasionally use more monitors, however the acoustics of the theater are so robust that additional monitors are almost never needed.

Microphones, stands and racks

We have a wide variety of microphones.  We recommend SM-58's We have several large diaphragm microphones available.

Approximately 7 music stands are in the theater.

We have stand lighting as well.

We have microphone racks as well, including boom stands and straight stands.

We do not carry direct boxes.  Please bring your own.

Lighting

We use a 16 channel NSI multiplex lighting system for general lighting.

Additionally we have a 12 channel  DMX lighting board with 4 color-changers.
