The Wine Shop at The Acorn Theater knows that the appreciation of wine and art usually go hand-in-hand, and they are bringing that concept to Three Oaks in a big way. Every six weeks, the wine shop will host a different artist’s work, displayed on the walls of the shop. On March 1st, the shop will hold a reception to welcome and celebrate the work of Niles photographer Todd Keller, and guests will be able to meet the artist and discuss his work with him directly. The reception will be open to the public and will feature complimentary light hors d’oeuvres, and of course, great wines. HENHOUSE PROWLERS, CHICAGO’S SPECTACULAR BLUEGRASS HARMONIZERS, WHOSE MUSIC IS FEATURED AS THE SOUNDTRACK FOR AN UPCOMING PBS DOCUMENTARY SERIES

"This bluegrass band has the right formula: heavenly harmonies on top of furious fingerpicking, trucking down the highway at 200mph. When you're dealing with a force of nature this big, you either get on the truck or get the hell out of the way." --Time Out Chicago
The Henhouse Prowlers is a five-piece traditional bluegrass band based in Chicago. Performing upwards of 175 - 200 shows per year, the Prowlers work to bring the best of bluegrass to crowds around the country. Keeping with the standards set over 50 years ago, the group always performs in nicely pressed suits around a single microphone set-up. Drawing from influences both old and new, the Prowlers strive to express the sentiment of their own times while still maintaining the integrity of traditional bluegrass music. Performing both original contemporary and traditional songs with equal enthusiasm, they are beginning to draw attention from audiences both young and old. Music from the Prowlers is featured for the soundtrack of the upcoming PBS documentary series “The Ride of Our Lives” based on the book by Mike Leonard ((Features correspondent for The Today Show on NBC) who took his retired parents and his children on a 30 day road trip a few years ago about which PBS asked him to do a 13 part series, Check your local PBS listings for show times. FRIDAY, MARCH 14TH, 8:00PM EST: CELEBRATE ST. PATRICK’S DAY WITH A CELTIC MUSIC CONCERT BY KENNEDY’S KITCHEN
"To hear Kennedy's Kitchen is to experience the heart of music, the culture of the songs being handed from musician to musician, the beauty of melody untouched by gimmick and the magic of this group of musicians coming together with one aim - to leave you, and them, breathless. Then, on the next song, they'll have you partying and dancing as never before. One of America's best." Tom Schaub, Entertainment Director Michigan Irish Music Festival
Kennedy’s Kitchen is based in South Bend, Indiana and has grown over ten years out of weekly seisuns (Seisuns or seicuns is an Irish word that means a gathering of musicians for the intent of playing music). As a seisun is as much a social gathering as a musical one, so like their performances, the music is intermingled with stories, jokes and well-embellished tales. No two performances are the same. Out of their respect for each other's talents comes an abiding drive to share their enthusiasm for Irish music and culture with others. Rowdy and toe tapping or sweet and sentimental, you'll have it all.

Founded in '00 as a jug band, 'DFPP' now mixes other American roots forms into the breading batter as well. Bluegrass, Folk, Rockabilly, Blues and Honky-Tonk tunes pepper their set lists.
